Invitation to Pursue - April 10, 2009

The Word says if you find me you find a good thing

That means you should come to me willing

I shouldn’t be the one to pursue you

I should be pursued.

Although, I believe this

I wish that I didn’t feel the need to take your role

Trying to take control, when I don’t see you make a move

What’s wrong with you? Are my thoughts

I should be besought

Now conflicted with my forethought

I ought to be pursued.

If I make my presence known to you

What are you waiting for fool?

Sorry, you are not a fool but seriously

Clearly I’m interested if I obviously

Go out my way to say Hi to you

Giving you a Sabbath Hug* and spend a minute or two

Talking to you.

I know it’s small talk but if you realize

That I’m not just answering questions but giving questions

And I stare a little longer in your eyes

Captivated by your actions

Laughing at your jokes a little harder

While giving you a pat on your shoulder

Letting my hand hold to you a little longer

Why not pursue?

I’m single, you’re single

I’m cute, you’re cute

What’s the problem?

Should I assume you are not interested?

Or are my signals being misread?

Again that is what is going in my head.

Thoughts of my afterthoughts remind me of my forethoughts

I should be pursued.

What about the times you do initiate contact

But when I try to call, you don’t call back

Don’t expect call number two

Yet still, I’m fighting thoughts not to call you

Because I want to be pursued

So you say “let’s go on a date”

That’s great!

I already have my outfit planned.

But wait, you didn’t set a date

Was that just a statement?

Or do you expect me to do the movement.

Are you serious?

Because your actions say the opposite

Me asking you out is a negative

I just want to be pursued.

If the Word says a man finds a good thing when he finds a wife

Then I want to be found.

This is my invitation to be pursued.

Trust me, I’m not hiding

If I make myself available to you, you should know what to do.

I’m a good thing!

N.B. * A "Sabbath hug" has nothing to do with the type of hug. LOL. A "Sabbath hug" is only the day that the hug is given on (the 7th day of the week). Not that I only give hugs on those days but those are the days that they typically happen LOL.
