Chocolate Skinned
Chocolate skinned, kinked hair
I see you stare
But it’s as if I’m not there
Straight teeth, manicure feet
I see you stare
But it’s as if I’m not there
I look around me
To all the pretty girls I see
Girls of different shades
Complexions that God has made
I see you stare
But it’s as if I’m not there
I question myself,
Are you staring at me?
Just like what I thought,
It’s the light skinned girl with long hair beside me.
Why does complexion have to be a style?
Like bellbottoms, only in for a while
But it’s seems like light skinned females will always be the trend
While dark skinned ladies will always be last or at the end
Look at the media, who sells your jeans?
Light skinned females, see what I mean?
Who’s on the arm of that good looking brotha?
If she’s not white, isn’t it a light skinned sista?
And what is up with having to have long hair?
Why should you even care?
Am I less of a female without it?
It takes confidence to rock this
And guess what?
My hair is healthier unlike my over processed sister
My style shows my strength
Don’t you want a woman with strength?
I’m not raving
I’m just advocating
Okay…
I invite you to prove me wrong
Come and step out of the norm
Rock a darker shade of flesh on your arm
I am single, can you tell?
Interested?
Give me a shout on my Nextel
